Meet Your Farmers

Jesse

A self-proclaimed “jack-of-all-trades and master of none,” this fella pours his heart and soul and a lot of elbow grease into the farm. Jesse grew up on a small dairy farm near Stanley, Wisconsin and spent the bulk of his 20s relief milking for dairy farmers. He felt the pull back to the land and has been a workhorse, clearing fencelines and making way for new pasture, fixing up old equipment, and breathing new life into the farm.

Danielle

Danielle grew up here on the farm, roaming the forest. Some of her best memories are from milking cows in the old stone barn alongside her dad. Back then, so many of their chore-time conversations centered around a dream that someday she might raise her own family here. The dairy cows were sold in 2011. But in 2015, Jesse and Danielle made those childhood dreams a reality when they bought the farm. Together, they’re reimagining the farm’s future.

Blake & Logan

These two goofs are what make all of the farm projects and long days worthwhile. They are our resident pen muckers, critter cuddlers, and egg collectors. We can’t imagine raising the boys anywhere else. These two entrepreneurs have their own ventures going — be sure to ask us about their rabbits and farm fresh chicken eggs!

‘Gramps’ - Don

Danielle’s dad, affectionally known as ‘Gramps’ around here, had the foresight to buy this farm back in the early 1990s. He milked cows here for many years in the stone barn and instilled in his daughters a love of the land. Nowadays, he helps with farm projects but likes to remind us he’s in more of a supervisory role as our resident ‘HTP’ — “Stand back and watch this, I’m a Highly Trained Professional.”

Uncle Bob

Bob farms just across the woods from us and has been instilling his farming wisdom in Danielle since she was knee-high to a grasshopper. When you bite into a Runamuck Ranch steak and it’s juicy, flavorful, and beautifully marbled, you can thank Bob for dropping his cattle finishing wisdom on us.

Jess

As the Runamuck Ranch kitten and kid wrangler, Jess helps us all stay on track, and helps make sure the tiny humans don’t get into too much mischief. She’s traded in her calf feeding days of her dairy farming youth for dishing out sass and keeping us all in line.

Let us be your farmers.

When you buy from the Runamuck Ranch, you know your food dollar isn’t going to some corporation with only a sliver ever getting back to the farmer. Instead, you’re investing in our family farm and the vision of a more vibrant food system. And you can rest easy knowing the beef on your plate is free from growth hormones and came from well-loved animals that spent their life outdoors on pasture.
